CentralMind Gateway is a universal MCP-Server designed to expose databases to AI agents and large language models (LLMs) through optimized APIs. The project automatically generates secure, LLM-optimized APIs based on database schema and sampled data, facilitating AI agents' access to data without direct SQL queries, thus enhancing security, compliance, and performance. The system is configurable via YAML and supports plugins for extensibility. Deployment options include running as a standalone binary, Docker container, or Kubernetes with Helm charts. It supports multiple AI providers including OpenAI, Anthropic, Amazon Bedrock, Google Gemini, and Google VertexAI, as well as self-hosted LLMs. Security features include row-level security with Lua scripts, API key and OAuth authentication, and comprehensive monitoring with OpenTelemetry. The project aims to enable companies deploying AI agents for customer support and analytics to securely and efficiently access structured data. It provides auto-generated Swagger documentation and OpenAPI 3.1.0 specifications for easy API consumption. The Gateway connects to databases, analyzes schema and data samples, and uses LLMs to generate API configurations while ensuring PII detection and security. Overall, CentralMind Gateway is a powerful tool for creating AI-optimized, secure, and compliant APIs for structured databases, facilitating seamless integration of AI agents with enterprise data.
